Visit Rukungiri
Trustee Becky Thorn is taking a self-funded break from her job (following voluntary redundancy – something good to come out of the financial crisis!) to dedicate herself to Chilli Children. Her break began in February 2009 when she went out to Uganda to live and work with the Rukungiri Children's Project for 6 months. Following that she is visiting churches in the UK to pass back the good news from Uganda and to give thanks for all the support that people have given from the UK and Ireland.
We really feel that the best way to know Chilli Children is to visit Uganda, we suggest you visit or you 'send' someone from your church. Becky can arrange this for you and you can be sure of a warm Uganda welcome from the Project team who will show you all around and give you the chance to meet the children and share with them your thoughts and any aid you're able to bring over.
This is a great opportunity to really witness the situation, see how people are really managing, what a donation really means and to be able to dispel bad myths about Africa! The Project is also really close to some fantastic safari (elephants, hippos, lions) that's well worth even a quick look – an experience of a lifetime!
