Life skills
Life skills clinics are a Field programme for brain damaged children. Evas, the trained Occupational Therapist of the Project, visits villages to teach parents how to teach their brain damaged children “life skills”.
Life skills start with learning to sit, then to feed and bath themselves. Once these are mastered, they learn standing, and if possible walking.
The parents are really happy to learn how to teach their children life skills. They learn how to massage, stretch and position their child to develop the child's muscles and confidence. The children begin to look after themselves. This is not only important for their physical health but also their mental and spiritual health.
Project needs money for:
- setting up Life skills clinics (£300 each)
- wheelchairs (£150 each because it is specially made for the
- child and the rough terrain)
- transport – fuel, repairs including tyre replacements
- salary of Occupational Therapist
- learning aids
